NRTshop uses a third-party age verification service, Blue Check, to ensure that all customers purchasing nicotine replacement therapy products are 21 or older.

We know that privacy and convenience are important to you, and have carefully selected Blue Check to protect your privacy.  Blue Check is so easy to use, most customers will not even know they have been age verified.

How Age Verification Works with Blue Check
Blue Check is an industry-leading provider of age verification solutions designed to confirm user identity and age with convenience, accuracy, and privacy.

1. Checkout Age Verification:
For most customers, Blue Check can confirm your age using just checkout information. Blue Check compares your checkout information against identity databases and can usually determine if you are 21 or older automatically.  If they need more information, then a screen will display with alternative age verification methods.

2. Alternative Age Verification Methods:
If you perform these steps once, your account record at NRTshop will be marked age verified, and you will not need to go through this Blue Check process again.
• Government Issued ID Scan: Securely uploading an image of a valid, non-expired government issued identification document (driver license, state id, passport).
• Facial/Biometric Analysis: Comparing the user's face to the photo on the ID.

3. Secure Processing:
Blue Check's system automatically extracts and confirms only the necessary information (date of birth and identity details) to verify your age. NRTshop does not receive or store document images or biometric data.

4. What happens to your paid order: Once Blue Check confirms you meet the minimum age requirement, they send a simple pass or fail confirmation back to our website.  NRTshop can then process or cancel your order.

How Blue Check Protects Your Data
Blue Check operates under a strict data retention and privacy policy. They ensure that:
• Temporary Data Storage: Any image or document data uploaded for verification is stored only temporarily and is deleted immediately after the verification process is complete.
• Data Minimization: Only the minimum data required to confirm your age is processed.
• No Third-Party Sharing: Blue Check does not sell, trade, or share your verification data with other third parties for marketing or unrelated purposes.

Data Received by NRTshop from Blue Check
Blue Check transmits us a pass or fail result for your paid order.  Orders that failed or did not complete verification are flagged for review by NRTshop staff before shipping.  We will cancel and refund your order if it appears you are under age.  We record the verification pass or fail result in your account record at NRTshop to skip  verification on future orders.

Legal Compliance
By using Blue Check, we aim to be in full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to age gating and online age verification, including but not limited to the U.S. Age Appropriate Design Code (AADC) or relevant state laws.
